Counselling

Victim Support Service provides a professional, personal counselling service for adults who have been affected by a criminal act.

  • This free and confidential service is provided by professionally qualified social workers.
  • Appointment times are usually during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm), however alternative times can be arranged.
  • A victim does not need to have reported a crime to access our service.

Persons seeking support are invited to contact the organisation. At the first point of contact, an Administration Assistant will record the caller's details and arrange for a Duty Worker from the Intake, Assessment & Brief Intervention Team to respond within 2 working days.

Our Intake, Assessment & Brief Intervention Team provide short-term assistance and counselling for clients who do not require long-term support. Clients who present a need for ongoing consultations are allocated to a Long-Term Counsellor from the Counselling Team.
